When Andrea and Martin Hirtl took over the business in 2001, they brought in a new era of quality to the 300 year old estate. The geological and climatic characteristics of the Weinviertel are combined with much experience and skill and put into the bottle so that the special character of each individual grape variety is shown to its best advantage. A total of 20 hectares of vineyards are cultivated. The wines are most appealing with their depth and structure, their complexity and their authentic style. This is true in particular for the leading grape variety, Grüner Veltliner, which the Hirtl estate produces in various variations of the DAC, showing its superb potential.
